The landscapes of the Millevaches plateau are very hilly and wooded. They are home to exceptional sites such as the immense Vassivière lake, very close to the farm.
Here, you don't have time to get bored: swimming, hiking, farmers' markets, concerts, farm visits... Activities every day and for everyone!
Who are we ?
Christophe: I am originally from Paris. After studying applied arts, I move away from the capital to give a second life to the farm of André, my great-grandfather. This is how the Ferme des Ânes de Vassivière was born in the spring of 2000.
Olivier: I am originally from Provence and, initially, a graphic designer and illustrator. I arrived in Limousin in 2003, I worked for a time for the art center on the island of Vassivière, then I chose to devote myself entirely to Donkeys!
There is Ilton, who is a bit of the estate's mascot and an adorable companion.
It is often he who welcomes you even before you have crossed the threshold of the reception!
There is also two little cats (not shy either and who might just visit you when you least expect it), the donkeys of course (who are adorable neighbours), the many birds (ncluding the owls
at night), the hedgehogs that live under the floor of the yurts...
Here, it's not a hotel, it's not a campsite.
It is not a sanitized, air-conditioned, normalized... and smooth place.
It is a simple, unpretentious place, but naturally beautiful and soothing.
It is a farm where all the inhabitants, including the animals, contribute to the authenticity.
You arrive there with our joys or our worries, our energy, our dreams or our stress: and you put everything down to meditate for a while.
In short, it's the "Ânes de Vassivière's spirit" and the promise of experiencing a unique and precious parenthesis here!
